After almost two and a half years waiting, I've finally got my hands on some new material from THE BEST BAND IN THE WORLD! It's been an agonising wait, two and a half years wait! Do you know how long that is? Have you any idea the pain I've gone through during that time. The numerous sleepless nights I've had to endure, weeks of not been able to eat, days of enduring horrendous constiptation attacks, hours of sitting in my room, curled up with my head between my knees, silently emitting an eerie hum!!!!!
Coldplay's SPEED OF SOUND is the first single released from their hugely anticipated third album "X&Y". The track opens with euphoric piano riffs, which have the hairs on the back of your neck standing on end! Chris Martin's haunting voice kicks in, closely followed by Will Champion's resonant drum beat. Johnny B light fingers his way around the guitar riffs and last but by no means least it's left to Guy B to add the deep, deep bass sound to complete the track. Lyrically the song is as good as any that have gone before, Chris Martin's writing comes from an different angle. The battle for his feelings gives way to seeing life in extremes. Black and White, Ying and Yang, X&Y!
The man is still trouble by self doubt and the unknown. He still seems, it appears, unsure if the album is going to be a success. The knowledge that the band have gone to hell and back to created the album only adds to his worries. But on the evidence of this single his fears are completely and utterly unfounded. SPEED OF SOUND is ambitious, colossal, universal and fucking massive!!!!
Coldplay have answer their critics emphatically, only their inner consciences are holding them back! The future is bright the future is X&Y and with SPEED OF SOUND the band couldn't have asked for a better start! COLDPLAY are bang on course for world domination once again.
Its good to have them back, my own personal hell is over. The torture is over and it's time to enjoy and live the Coldplay experience. THANK F*CK!!!!!!!
