A re-release of an absolute classic from the Kaisers. I Predict A Riot is a riot to listen to!! Memories start to flood back of when I saw them at The Astoria in April of this year. The whole venue felt like it was literally shaking and vibrating with energy!
The song itself has one of, if not the, best ever lyrics for a chorus. "I Predict A Riot / I Predict A Riot" etc. It simply demands attention, and urges you to sing along. (as I was compelled to do so at the gig!) The whole song evolves from many a drunken night in Leeds. An action from someone misinterpreted by another and the inevitable punch up ensues. A riot is the ultimate outcome. Blood, sweat, swearing and no doubt a few tears are seen and heard. Ricky Wilson & co have obviously witnessed their fair share of running pitched-battles in Leeds on either a Friday or Saturday night. So the inspiration to write a stomper like this was always going to be on the cards.
