Another first for new music, another slice of new band pie. We Are Scientists open their account here with a track title not to be confused with a certain film that most of us Brits hold dear to our hearts. These American boys have produced a rough as yet uncut diamond which in time will be smoothed, polished and cleaned so that it will gleam and shine like the sun.
We Are Scientists hail from Brooklyn and they have been said to have a sound like 'an epic, guitar-solo-loving version of everyone's secretly-favorite 80's band', here we have new single The Great Escape - this is definitely in tune with their guitar soloing image, a crunchy bouncy guitar licking tune which spins like a Catherine wheel nailed to fence on fireworks night! These boys, although having a rather geekish looking appearance have the sounds and (whisper it) the image to be a mighty force in today's whirlwind industry.
