Babyshambles (finally!!!) release their second single from their as yet untitled debut album! The goings on of Pete & Co had caused the single to be delayed in being released, the album sessions to be put on ice and the latest tour to be cancelled. Many fans vented their angry towards the band and Pete especially demanding to know why he had fallen into another way of halting the progress of the band.
But at last here is the work which (I for one) have been patiently waiting for. This is a Babyshambles track through and through, it oozes lazy guitar riffs and chilled out drums beats, all the hall marks of The Lib's and 'Shambles combined! The added twist to this is that Pete's girlfriend Kate Moss is singing on backing vocals. (though having never heard her before you would NEVER know). The songs circles the style, most importantly, of how Pete wants the band to follow. The Libertines will forever have a profounding effect on him and the vibe has been brought through to 'Shambles.
The video to Fuck Forever sees the band mucking about down on a farm, the location of this was (I think) somewhere in North London. Logically this would make sense as the band hail from that part of town. The farm it's self is pretty much what you would expect, shit on the ground and hay and dust balls flying about the place. Though the band still manage to get all their gear into the arena, and play! (the best bit of the video is seeing a donkey with a union jack flag tide round it's midriff!) Weird!
For me personally this is as good as it gets from Babyshambles and the long wait was well worth it (though recent radio plays have disagreed). The album according to sources is 90% complete, so I shall wait with abated breath. Here is more material from a band who I really hope get ot together, because they have the ability to be as big as The Libertines!
