The D4 - Out Of My Head

The D4 certainly have style, and its here in abundance.
From their debut record 6twenty, released in 2002, the kiwi rockers have shown the power, and rawness to produce powerful rock albums. The lingering effects of Party, Come On!, Pirate Love, Running On Empty and Rock n Roll Motherf***** will forever have my ears and soul rocking.  Their second album kicks off with Sake Bomb, The band are off to Tokyo to live the high life. Drinking and partying all night. A mad typical night with The D4? Who knows. Peepshow and Savage see The D4 return to their true rock n roll roots. Songs to truly rock to. Guitar riffs to die for, these babies will have you playing air guitar until your hands do not bleed (well maybe just get tired). Stops Me Cold is your typical  love ballad. You've seen this girl  in the neighbourhood. She doesn't know you, she hasn't seen you. You want to get her attention, you want to find out more about her. Every time you see her she melts your heart, the way that she looks stops you cold. You'd do anything to meet her, to understand her and be with her. You'd go to any lengths to find out about her. Your literally obessed by her. What I Want is a story about not knowing what to do in any given situation. What do you do? What is the right decision? If you decide to do something and follow through with do you feel that you've done the right thing?  The simple decisions which you normally take for granted. Like if the phones ring should I answer it or just let it ring. Who could be calling? What do they want? Is it something important? Do I really care? Too Stupid tells the tale of empathy. If you were King and you decided to examine the intelligence of all the people in your kingdom, to basically find out if there too stupid to live. A set of twenty questions would be set, based on  general knowledge. If you scored less than ten you'd would be deem stupid and set away for execution. A bit harsh I think but its only a story.

The D4 have served up another Rock n Roll banquet ready for us to gourge upon. Twelve songs ready to whet our appetite and consume with relish. If you liked 6twenty, then Out Of My Head will carry you on a golden tray right into the heart of The D4 pysche, there all you rock desire will be meet and its time to party!
